In this class, we will:
Listen, name, and process the truths that live inside of your body, brain, and heart
Use creativity, curiosity, and play to tap into your soul’s wisdom.
Reset your self-confidence by experiencing your emotions, releasing tension, and finding personal meaning.
Develop tools that inspire intimacy, depth, and freedom with your inner world.

“For as long as I remember, even as a child running barefoot over river rocks, the way back to myself has been through writing and dance. Movement taught me how to befriend the soft and wild animal of my body; taught me how to listen to the emotions and sensations stored in her tissues. The private pages of my journal gave me permission to tell myself the truth about life and find meaning. Now, after years of writing and dancing professionally, my practice has evolved into a way of letting my body tell her story. Combining movement and reflective journaling, SomaScribe is my way of sharing the rituals and process I’ve learned. There is a community of us in this world who long for rituals that help us remember who we are on deep, creative levels—it’s time we find each other and play.
Those familiar with Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” will no doubt recognize her influence on this class. When she explains that “Survival lies in sanity, and sanity lies in paying attention… the capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention,” her words speak directly to me, and perhaps to you.
With SomaScribe, we combine two different practices that integrate the psyche, body, and soul. We will unlock the stories that live within our skin and develop our ability to pay attention through any number of challenges. And plus, oh yeah, we’ll have a lot of fun doing it. “

As a dancer, I have learned the language of movement. The body speaks through sensation, a subtly that our thinking brains are sometimes stubborn to accept.
If you are hungry to hear more of your body’s wild wisdom and tap into its primal memory, I will be your translator. I will hold space for you to listen and learn. Through therapeutic movement modalities and sacred arts, we will investigate, courageously burrowing down into the roots of our beings to explore our deepest core desires.
As a poet and journalist, I burn for the truth. I will witness, hold, and encourage you until you find a clear voice of authenticity, a spine that is aligned and integrated. You will become fluent in the language of gravity, levity, and love.
We will bridge the gaps between thinking, feeling, and doing. We will sing the song of our individual and collective hearts. We will celebrate what it feels like to belong, intimately, to ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

This class is Not:
A performance. There is no pressure to polish your writing or perform your movements. While we encourage artistic development, we emphasize process over product
A class specifically for writers or dancers. We welcome all bodies who want a place to experience, express, and communicate their deeper truths and stories. No previous experience in any form is necessary.
A therapy session. We believe in the intrinsic healing power of creativity, communication, and community and are committed to creating containers where the therapeautic benefits of dance and writing will occur; however, we are artists, not licensed therapists. We encourage each person to seek out the professional help they need to feel whole and grounded.
What to Expect:
I strive to provide a safe and brave space to feel, move, and express. The venue will be a well-ventilated indoor studio, and we will respect everyone’s comfort levels with COVID. Here are some other things to remember:
- Bring a mask if you are not vaccinated or feel more comfortable wearing it.
- Bring a pen/pencil and journal of choice. This can be as simple as a lined notebook!
